The Beauty of Virginia

Virginia is a state of natural beauty and rich history. It is the birthplace of America, where the first English settlers landed in Jamestown in 1607. It is also the home of many founding fathers, such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, whose legacy can be seen in their magnificent estates and monuments.

Virginia is also a state of scenic diversity, from the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains to the sandy Atlantic beaches. You can explore its stunning landscapes by hiking, biking, kayaking, or driving along the scenic routes. You can also enjoy its wildlife and flora by visiting its national and state parks, botanical gardens, and wildlife refuges.

Virginia is a state of artistic inspiration, where you can discover its rich culture and heritage through its music, literature, art, and cuisine. You can listen to its musical traditions, from bluegrass to country to jazz. You can read its literary classics, from Edgar Allan Poe to William Faulkner to Toni Morrison. You can admire its artistic creations, from colonial crafts to contemporary paintings. You can taste its culinary delights, from Smithfield ham to Chesapeake Bay seafood to Virginia wine.
